William John Schlueter, 83, of Fort Dodge passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012. The graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Badger, IA. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
William was born in Fort Dodge on November 3, 1928 to Wilhelm and Anna Elsie (Kober) Schlueter. He grew up in Fort Dodge and attended St. Paul Lutheran School and then Fort Dodge Senior High. He married Rosemarie Groat on November 17, 1973. He worked for Becker Florist, Horn MFG Co. and Avco New Idea for 32 years until he retired in 1976. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Fort Dodge Gun Club. He also loved spending time with his very good friends Cliff Harp and Joe Sanders.
William is survived by his son Rodney (Shirley) Groat; sister Carol Martens; brother-in-law Don Lindner; granddaughter Megan (Kevin) and their son Orrin; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie; daughter Roxanne Paxson; grandson Corey Groat, sister Inga (Woody) Woodard and Elsie Lindner; brother-in-law Gene Martens; nephew Mark Lindner; his parents Wilhelm and Anna Elsie and his grandparents.
