Thirty five students from Fort Dodge Senior High auditioned for the 2012 Iowa High School Music Association's All-State Music Festival. Eleven Dodger musicians were selected as All-State representatives. These students constitute the upper half of the top one percent of all choral and instrumental musicians in the state.

The band, orchestra and choir students gave a 7- minute "blind" audition after spending the previous eight weeks preparing their individual and group material.

The students chosen will perform at the All-State Music Festival on Nov. 17 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. All seats for the concert are reserved, and tickets cost $18 each and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, search for Iowa All-State. The concert will be taped by Iowa Public Television and will air on Thanksgiving Day on IPTV.

Students representing Fort Dodge Senior High are:

All-State Chorus - Benjamin Ahlers, bass; Sarah Amhof, soprano; Madeline Ascherl, soprano; Matthew Delaney, tenor; Natalie Dillon, soprano; Kjerstin Grindberg, alto; Robert Leigh, bass; Alexandra Mass, alto; Brian Murman, bass; Jamila Shing-Hon, soprano; and Austin Sorenson, tenor.

All-State Band - Bella Chou, first alternate bassoon.
