Lola Finney, 76, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday at the First Covenant Church in Fort Dodge with Pastor Allan Redenius officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Lola Mae Bennett, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Strack) Bennett, was born July 19, 1936, in Humboldt, Kansas. On June 5, 1955, Lola married Robert "Jiggs" Finney and after their marriage the couple made Fort Dodge their home. Lola was a homemaker and also provided child care in her home. Lola enjoyed puzzles, going dancing, and mainly being a homemaker. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Her husband, Jiggs, passed away on June 3rd of this year. She was a member of First Covenant Church in Fort Dodge where she served on several funeral and wedding groups.
Lola is survived by her; three children, Linda (Doug) Johnson of Kanawha, IA, Nora Finney of Fort Dodge, and Ron (Vicki) Finney of Lincoln, NE; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Bennett of Humboldt, Kansas and a sister, Cristina Miller of Fort Dodge; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Diane Marie Finney; and her parents.
