To the editor:

I am sending this letter in support of Bob Singer and Clark Fletcher who are seeking re-election to the Webster County Board of Supervisors.

I joined the CJ Bio America team this past June as the general affairs manager of the CJ Bio America plant in Fort Dodge. Over the past four months I have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Singer and Mr. Fletcher and am impressed with their passion for the success of Webster County.

Bob Singer's history as a Webster County supervisor has shown him as a strong advocate for Webster County. He supported projects like the expansion of bike/walking trails (which we have noted as a significant draw to employees moving into the community), he worked to help obtain a $1.2 million grant from the Iowa Transportation Commission to build a road west of Cargill to provide safer, more efficient traffic in and out of the Ag Park, and has been a longtime advocate of sustaining our parks and historical court house. In my recent interactions with Mr. Singer, we presented at the Iowa Department of Transportation meeting held on Oct. 9 in Spirit Lake to lobby for funds to complete Highway 20 as a four-lane across the state. The completion of this project (in which Mr. Singer has invested significant time) will provide for increased gas tax revenue for the state as well as safer transportation of goods to the Ag Park. In short, Mr. Singer has consistently acted to progressively build our county.

Clark Fletcher has also been a longtime supporter of Webster County. He has been extremely insightful in resolving obstacles in obtaining proper and adequate infrastructure at the Ag Park for years, he has walked the talk in regards to initiating and maintaining open communications with business leaders and the community, and has worked to keep taxes low to entice new industry into the county. I have found Mr. Fletcher to be a diligent, level-headed participant in several meetings. He is quick to offer alternatives when the status quo is not working. His background as a business owner and the experience he has as a county supervisor make him a great asset.

I feel it is in the best interest of Webster County to see both Bob Singer and Clark Fletcher re-elected to the Board of Supervisors.
