NEWELL - Dr. Leland McKinney has joined DFS Inc., Newell, as the leader of the company's quality management systems.
Leland received his bachelor of science and master of science degrees from the feed science and management program in the department of grain science and industry at Kansas State University. He completed his doctorate in animal nutrition at Oklahoma State University then returned to Kansas State as a faculty member and Extension state leader in the grain science department.
DFS has four animal feed manufacturing facilities: two in Newell, one in Oskaloosa and one in Nemaha. A subsidiary, Market 1 Inc., offers services that include livestock hedging, the development and implementation of ingredient purchasing programs, applications of forecasting tools, market education and client representation with their lenders. Market 1 has offices in Newell, Johnston and Harlan.
