To the editor:
The citizens of Webster County will be choosing a new sheriff in November. I am writing this letter in support of James Stubbs who I believe is the best candidate for this position.
I retired from my position as lieutenant with the Webster County Sheriff's Department in 2007. While with the department, I had the opportunity to know and work with both candidates currently seeking the position of sheriff.
Clearly, both candidates would bring with them their knowledge of law enforcement and years of personal experience, but there are several reasons I believe James Stubbs would be the better choice for the position. I know Jim to demonstrate a calm, common-sense approach when dealing with problems that arise or in difficult situations that present themselves. He is devoted to his job and community which no doubt is one reason that he was selected to be in his current position as chief deputy. This position also affords him a better-rounded experience with the office and the job duties of sheriff. His personal attributes coupled with his over-all experience makes James Stubbs the best choice for sheriff of Webster County and I hope the voters will agree.
