The sixth-ranked (Class 2A)?Gael boys were fourth behind Algona, Webster City and Clear Lake.

''This is the third year in a row we've had the meet champ, which is obviously a feather in our cap,'' SEHS head coach Mike Szalat said. ''Seth ran a smart race. He didn't over-extend himself, yet he took care of business and followed in Nate (Kolacia's) footsteps.

''Our boys were a little disappointed in finishing fourth, but all seven guys were under 18 minutes, which is something I don't think I've had happen during my time here. The teams ahead of just ran very well, so all the credit goes to them.''
