To the editor:
I am writing to point out why I have already voted for Gov. Mitt Romney and not President Barack Hussein Obama. First of all, I am a registered Republican so that explains a lot. But I do not always vote a straight ticket. I tend to vote for the candidate who is running on a platform that I agree with. However, I agree with nothing that Mr. Obama stands for. I visited the Humboldt County Courthouse last Friday afternoon and cast my vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket!
Mr. Obama has had almost four years to turn this country around and all he has to show for it is a health care plan that many people did not want and no one knew what was in it. He let Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Harry Reid do all of his dirty work.
Gas prices are sky high, unemployment is at an all-time high, the coal industry has been destroyed, one of our closest allies (Israel) has been insulted and slighted, the middle class has been losing ground little by little each year, our foreign policy is in a shambles (can anyone say: "Benghazi?" or "Iran's nuclear program?"), and our kids and grandkids will never get out of debt at this rate. (Obama) just keeps blaming George W. Bush for each of his failures; when is he going to stand up like a grown-up and 'fess up to what he has done?
Gov. Romney is an honest, upstanding man who loves God, his family and his country. He has the knowledge and expertise to turn this country around so we can start getting people back to work in decent-paying jobs. His relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu is a close one and he will stand with that nation when it is threatened by their enemies. Obama would rather be visiting with Whoopi Goldberg or David Letterman than working with the allies of our country. Let's buy a ticket to Hollywood for Mr. Obama so he can go hang out with his buddies. Vote Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan on Nov. 6.
