EAGLE GROVE - Another cross country meet, another individual gold medal for Eagle Grove's Tiffany Christensen Tuesday night.

Running in the Class B section of the Dick Bell Invitational, the third-ranked (Class 1A) junior easily outshined the rest of the field, clocking a winning time of 15:29. Bishop Garrigan's No. 9 (1A) Erin Reedy (16:17) settled for silver.

With the victory, Christensen - who placed seventh at state a year ago - has now prevailed in all eight meets she's participated in this season.

"I really like running (at the Eagle Grove Country Club), because of all the support we have," said Christensen, who turned in a personal best mark of 14:41 Saturday at the South Hardin Invitational. "I just tried to shoot for my best time and catch the golf cart, but I know my competition is going to be getting a lot better (at districts and state)."

Eleventh-ranked (2A) South Hamilton took home top honors in the B team race with 58 points. No. 12 Bishop Garrigan (71) and Mason City Newman (94) were second and third. Defending meet champion and host Eagle Grove (98) was fifth.

In the A team standings, 13th-ranked (3A) Spencer (63) and Algona (83) led the way. St. Edmond (203) was ninth.

"Our girls ran the best they ever have at (the Dick Bell Invitational)," AHS head coach Chad Ahlers said. "I'm really happy to get three girls in the Top 10."

Tangy Wiseman (3rd, 16:06), Paige Yi (6th, 16:27) and Carissa Pityer (9th, 16:34) highlighted the action for the Bulldogs.

Humboldt's No. 15 (3A) Sam Larson (15:58) took home individual runner-up honors. No. 19 Cierra Guerrero from Spencer posted a triumph in 15:49.

Mary Eide (26th, 17:32) and Madi Reel (32nd, 17:50) anchored the Gael lineup.

"I thought our girls had their best race of the year, which was good to see," said SEHS head coach Mike Szalat. "I'll have to take a close look at the results and see how we pair up to some of the other teams, but I was pleased with how Madi closed the gap a little more on Mary. All of our (counting scores) were in the neighborhood of 1:30."
