GILMORE CITY - Greg R. Tubbs, 45, of Gilmore City, passed away on Saturday September 29, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Goetsch, Abundant Life Church in Humboldt, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Marble Valley Cemetery in Gilmore City. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his brothers, Michael Tubbs of Fort Dodge; Mark (Shelley) Tubbs of Ackley; Jay Tubbs of Gilmore City; sisters, Linda (Jerry) Humpal of Hardy; Michelle Tubbs of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Cherese (Mike) Sexe of Humboldt; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dorman Tubbs, mother, Donna (Skoland) Tubbs; brother, Brent Tubbs, and his nephew Jacob Webb Tubbs.

Gregory Robert Tubbs was born on February 20, 1967 in Fort Dodge. He was raised in Gilmore City and graduated from Gilmore City High School in 1986. Following his education he worked as a farm hand for 9 years in Carroll, IA. He then worked as a truck driver in road construction for the Braurer Construction Co. and later the Rohlin Road Construction Co. In 2004, Greg started Blue Sky Recycling which he owned and operated with his brothers, Jay and Mark. He enjoyed traveling to Albert City for the annual Thrashing and Antique Collectors Show, and trips to California, Arkansas, Texas, the Wisconsin Dells, and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Greg had an awesome sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. He especially enjoyed crushing (Popping) newer cars with his loader Mr. Larsen. He will be missed by his family, friends, and his pot belly pig "Voulet".
