Audrey Manos, 79, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in the loving care of many nurse angels. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Nick Forte, granddaughter and husband, Jacqueline and Rigo Retana, grandson, Nick Forte, Jr., brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Luella Buranen, sister, Mary Maple, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors in the true sense of the word. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack.
Audrey was born in Minneapolis on July 17, 1933. She and Jack moved to Fort Dodge in the 1950s. She loved animals and experienced her greatest sense of accomplishment from the years she volunteered at the Humane Society of North Central Iowa.
A celebration of Audrey's life will be held at noon on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Tea Thyme, 2021 6th Ave. So., Fort Dodge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Almost Home, the Humane Society of North Central Iowa. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
