U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley has endorsed Matt Alcazar, the Republican candidate for the state House of Representatives in District 9.
In a written statement, the Republican senator wrote that Alcazar believes in fiscal responsibility and added that he would not duck his legislative duties.
Alcazar, of Fort Dodge, faces state Rep. Helen Miller, D-Fort Dodge, in the race for the House District 9 seat. The district includes Badger, Clare, Duncombe, Fort Dodge, Vincent and rural areas of northern Webster County.
