JOHNSTON - The Fort Dodge volleyball squad suffered a three-game loss to Johnston here Tuesday in their final tuneup before CIML divisional play begins.
Scores were 25-14, 25-21 and 25-17 in favor of the Dragons (14-2 overall).
Lexi Astor had six digs, four kills and three blocks for the Dodgers (6-18). Ashley Altman added six kills, while Tiana Mericle contributed four blocks. Maddie Egli chipped in eight assists and seven digs.
''They were a hard-hitting team,'' FDSH head coach Toni Cochrane said. ''Very solid with a lot of playmakers. We had to dig out a lot of balls.
''We played well and fought hard, but they overpowered us offensively.''
The Dodgers open CIML Northern Division action Tuesday at Marshalltown. The varsity match starts at 7:30 p.m.
