PALMER-Dennis R. Quinn, Sr., 67, died peacefully at his rural Palmer home on Sat., Sept. 15, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Wed. Sept. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Manson. Visitation will be held at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson on Tues. from 5 until 8 p.m. with a parish rosary at 5:30 and prayer vigil at 7:00. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Palmer.
Dennis Quinn was born on Dec. 18, 1944, at Ft. Dodge, IA, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Donahoe) Quinn. After attending Palmer High School, he served in the U. S. Air Force in Viet Nam from June of 1966 until March of 1969. He returned home where he began farming and driving truck. He was united in marriage with Pamela Osmanson on Jan. 8, 1976. The marriage later ended in divorce. Denny enjoyed time spent visiting with friends and spending his life on the family farm. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter Christine (Scott) Timmerman of Ft. Dodge, IA; sons Dennis (Margaret) Quinn, Jr. of Ft. Dodge, IA; and Daniel (Jonna) Quinn of Canton, OH; granddaughters Allie, Lily "Red", Jocy, and Selby; sister Maureen Pingel of Ankeny, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Thomas; brother-in-law Bob Pingel.
