To the editor:
The staff at Webster County Conservation would like to thank those who participated in last Saturday's Adventure Race at Brushy Creek State Recreation Area. We hope to continue the event and utilize the resources Webster County has to offer.
Although the event wouldn't happen without the participants, the Adventure Race volunteers are the real gems. Without their dedication to volunteering on an early Saturday morning and sitting in the rain waiting for participants, the event would not have been a success. Volunteers included several Fort Dodge Senior High students Ciera Janicek, Abby Telfer, Kyle Johnson, Grant Strait, Shawn Baguhn and Taylor Cathcart. Adult volunteers representing Young Professionals and Friends of WCC were Doug Breyfogle, Ann Halbur, Scott Burbank, Jim Patton, Cierra Walding, Mark Daniel and Sam Henning. We appreciate volunteers giving their time on a Saturday morning and their willingness to make a difference.
Thanks also to Pelham's for the water they provided, Brown's Shoe Fit for the bibs and bags, Tom Kinseth of FDSH for use of the timing system and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for allowing us to host the event at Brushy Creek. Volunteers and sponsors are so important to the success of events. Thanks to all those who played a part in this year's Adventure Race
