Kelvin G. Brown, 3 year-old son of Dr. Ryan and Hope Brown, passed away on Friday September 7, 2012, at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 15th at 10:30 a.m., First United Methodist Church with Rev. Andrea Kraushaar officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, September 14th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Kelvin will be wearing his Engine 5 t-shirt, and the family welcomes you to wear yours as well. If you don't have one, please feel free to wear a Sidewalk Sunday School, Iowa Hawkeyes, Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Edmond Gaels or Fort Dodge Dodgers t-shirt. Kelvin had ties to all of these entities, and he wouldn't want you to sit in dark, uncomfortable dress clothes. A sea of brightly colored t-shirts will be fitting for his Celebration Service. Serving the family is the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Survivors include his parents; sister, Clarissa at home; maternal grandparents, Howard and Ann Garton of West Bend; paternal grandparents, Jim and Diane Brown of Otho; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kelvin Garton Brown was born on September 27, 2008 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. He attended KidZone Christian Childcare Center. Kelvin was very friendly and loved to visit with almost anyone. He was especially interested in everything related to firefighting, with some of his best days spent visiting the Fort Dodge Fire Department. Kelvin also enjoyed construction, playing with toy cars and trucks, and riding his tricycle. Kelvin refused to let his illness slow him down, which endeared him to anyone he met. He was a truly good boy and every day that passes will leave us one day closer to seeing him smile again.
The family will help direct donations, including small toys, to the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital where Kelvin received excellent care.
