HUMBOLDT - Oakhill Baptist Church will host trumpeter Don Shire in concert at 6 p.m. Sept. 9.
Shire is head of a mission organization that offers short-term mission opportunities to anyone who is led to serve. Since its inception, Don Shire Ministries has taken thousands of people on mission trips offering work projects, evangelism, teaching, children's programs, Christian camping, and prison ministries.
His ministry also supports eight orphanages and five homes for widows.
Shire's trumpet music varies in style from classical to jazz to gospel, and seeks to appeal to all ages.
