Bob Wood receives blue ribbon for photos

Local photographer Bob Wood was recently awarded a blue ribbon for photography at the Iowa State Fair.

Wood's image, "Floating Sarah," won first place in the Special Division: Black and White or Color, Category: High Dynamic Range, at the 2012 Iowa State Fair Photography Salon. A blue ribbon and a cash prize were awarded to Wood on Aug. 5 at the Photography Salon award reception. The superintendent of the Iowa State Fair Photography Salon, Charley Starns, presented Wood with the award.

Wood is a photo artist from Fort Dodge specializing in urban, rural, landscape, architecture and modern photography, including infrared and HDR (High Dynamic Range).

Wood's photos can be seen locally at Olde Boston's Restaurant & Pub, Perkins Restaurant, Permanent Collections Gallery of Art consignments, the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance office, Iowa Central Community College, and at his website -
