BRITT - Betty L. Ginger, 76, of Britt, Iowa, and formerly of Moorland, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis Konkel officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Betty is survived by her husband, Delbert; their two children, Debra Jo Rauhauser and Delia (Brad) Hoffman; five grandchildren, Justin Ferry (Stacy Eger), Callin Ferry (Teal Hulsebus), David Hoffman, Megan Hoffman, and Danielle Rauhauser; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Darrell and Sandra Rehder, Delbert Ginger, Randy (Goose) Ginger and Arlene Stevenson. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dean Ginger in 1971; and two sisters, Darlene and Jennie.

Betty Lou Maisel, the daughter of Howard and Mathilda (Fleck) Maisel, was born September 24, 1935 in Hubbard, Iowa and grew up on the farm. At the age of five, Betty became deaf and started attending the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs. On June 20, 1959, she married Delbert Ginger. Betty worked at Globe Union, Central Labs and for a short time worked at the Hancock County Hospital. For the past 13 years they traveled south for the winter. She enjoyed puzzle books, Britt Hobo Days, gardening, spending time with her kids and grandkids, and baking goodies for Christmas gatherings. Betty loved camping with the deaf community and being part of the Iowa Deaf Campers.
