DAKOTA CITY - Lois Riles, 81, of Dakota City, passed away August 13, 2012 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Humboldt. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. There will be a Parish Rosary at 5:00, a VFW Auxiliary Memorial Service at 7:00, and a Parish Scripture Service at 7:30 Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Connie Riles of Dakota City; sons, Robert Riles, Jr. of Ames, Mike Riles of Gilmore City, Terry Riles of Manson, and Jeff Riles of Livermore; 6 granddaughters; 3 great granddaughters; her brother, J.E. "Spud" Colwell of Humboldt; and sisters, Rosemary Dencklau and Jean Jennings, both of Humboldt; Evelyn McDonald of Georgia, and Pat Powers of Duncombe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Riles; infant daughter, Nancy; her granddaughter, Khristina Riles; and sister, Dorothy Reynolds.
