Betty Halverson, 69, of Fort Dodge was called to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her home.

There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Betty is survived by her love of her life and husband, Bill and her children, which she was extremely proud of, Mitch(Donette) of Fort Dodge; Eric(Regina) of Janesville, WI; and Teresa(Mike) Hillner of Scottsdale, AZ; precious grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan, and Kelsey Halverson, Hunter, Hannah, and Hayden Halverson, and Jack Hillner; brother, Russell (Roberta) Steele of Des Moines and sister-in-laws, Kay Harkin of Strasburg, CO; Patricia Jurisin of Clarksville, TN; Judith Brown of Rockwell City; Iren Halverson of Mission, TX; and Marcy Firl of Holmen, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lucille Steele; brother, Jim; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Sebastian Patina.

Betty Ann Steele was born January 7, 1943 in Corning, Iowa. She graduated from Corning High School. She then attended AIB in Des Moines and was employed with the college after her graduation. During this time, Betty was united in marriage to Bill Halverson and they established their home in Fort Dodge, where the couple raised their family. The couple later moved to Janesville, Wisconsin for a period of time where she worked for Monterey Mills. The family moved back to Fort Dodge. She began working for the hot lunch program in the Fort Dodge Public School System and until her illness; Betty was also employed with Hawkeye Realty.

Memorials may be left to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trinity Hospice, or the Trinity Regional Medical Center Cancer Treatment Facility.
