Rose Hoffman of Fort Dodge passed away on August 12, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, August 16 at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will be at the Gowrie, IA Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15 from 5 7 p.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Rose was born July 9, 1931 to Beulah and Allen Elmore in Paton, IA. She was united in marriage to Edward Hoffman in 1952 at Waverly, IA. She was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, and enjoyed serving in many roles at her church. She was a homemaker, and also employed at Montgomery Ward, Sears and in management at Target. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; playing cards, traveling, baking, golfing and wintering in Arizona.
She is survived by her children Michael (Julie) Hoffman of Clive; and Patti (late Steve) Salter of Sioux City; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, her special friend Richard Murken, sister Mert Gustafson of Fort Dodge; and brother Max Elmore of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, and sister Theresa Brain.
