James Allen Hambleton passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at his home in Tucson, AZ, following a lenghty battle with cancer.
Jim was born August 24, 1948, in Peoria, IL, and was raised in Fort Dodge, IA. Following his graduation from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1966, Jim joined the U.S. Navy, serving five years. Upon his discharge, Jim studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated with degrees in linguistics and computer science. He married Audrey Huie on February 19, 1977. He was employed as an Oracle data base administrator, most recently for the Gore Corporation of Flagstaff, AZ.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Audrey; mother and father, Marilyn and Lloyd Hambleton (Fort Dodge); sister Julianne Hambleton (Fort Dodge; nieces Laura Krumm (Austin, TX) and Sarah Krumm (Des Moines, IA); and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His body has been donated to the University of Arizona in Tucson for research.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
