Louis "Chip" M. Copenhaver, 58, of Fort Dodge passed Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A prayer service will follow at 6:00 PM with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating.
Chip is survived by his wife Laurie; sons Matt (Barb) of Ankeny and Dillion Christensen of Fort Dodge; daughters, Callie Witt and Paige Copenhaver both of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Madison and Mason Copenhaver; Avery Knutson; and Ella Harvey; parents, Francesca Bloom and husband Richard of Fort Dodge; Lewis Copenhaver and wife Sharon of McClure, PA; siblings, Richard (Chris) Bloom, Frank (Kim) Bloom, Merle (Sue) Bloom, all of Fort Dodge; Louis, Shawn, Jeff, and LaVonne Copenhaver all of McClure, PA.

LOUIS “CHIP” M. COPENHAVER
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Michael and his grandparents.
Louis Michael Copenhaver was born November 27, 1953 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He started his education in Long Branch, New Jersey and graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Washington D.C. Following his education he and his family moved to Fort Dodge. On September 18, 1999 Chip was united in marriage to Laurie Witt and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Chip worked various jobs in Fort Dodge mainly in security and the construction business. He retired from Central States Roofing of Ames. Chip was a member of A.B.A.T.E and the Lifetime Bass Association. He enjoyed fishing,spending time with his family, and riding his Harley.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
