LOVELAND, Colo. - Howard A. Hecht, 84, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away on July 29, 2012. He was born February 23, 1928, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Gerald and Eileen Hecht.
After graduating from high school, Howard served in the U.S. Army for two years, then attended Iowa State University and received a degree in Economics. He worked for the Principal Financial Group of Des Moines, Iowa, for 40 years, and retired as Vice-President of Residential Mortgages. While at Principal, he founded a mortgage banking operation, Principal Residential Advisors and served as chairman of the Board, and also served on the Board of Directors of First Federal Savings Bank of Iowa. He faithfully served his church in many capacities and directed an international mission group to raise funds for those less fortunate. He was an enthusiastic volunteer for many organizations, loved to fish, hike, study history, and was known to tell a story or two.
Howard will be remembered as a man of strong faith and a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Richalie; daughters Cynthia; Connie (Doug); Tracie; Tamara (David); son Howard, Jr. (Sandy); a sister, Geraldine (Walt); 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lillian, grandson, Andrew, and his first wife, Joan.
Visitation will be held at Allnutt Funeral Home 2100 N. Lincoln Ave Loveland on Thursday between 4:00 and 6:00 PM
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Church in Estes Park on Friday August 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Church or Front Range Hospice in care of Allnutt Funeral Service 1302 Graves Ave Estes Park, CO 80517.
