The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office issued a press release on Thursday concerning partially decomposed human remains found at Little Wall Lake, south of Jewell.
According to the press release, at 10:05 a.m., a fisherman reported finding the remains while fishing at the lake.
County sheriff's deputies responded and began an investigation, assisting agencies including Ellsworth-Jewell-Stanhope Police Department, the Department of Natural Resources, Hamilton County Conservation, the Department of Criminal Investigation, State Medical Examiner's Office and the Story County Dive Team.
The remains will be taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for examination.
According to the press release, there is not believed to be any connection to the disappearance of the two girls in Evansdale.
