To the editor:
The Marine Corps League of Fort Dodge had another successful Steak Fry Dinner this April at the VFW. The money earned at this event goes back to the community, to a wide variety of charitable organizations such as The Salvation Army, Make a Wish Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, American Red Cross, the Special Olympics, Marshalltown Veterans Home and more.
This year's event was a success and we would like to "thank" the following businesses for the donations we received: Sports Page, Mineral City, Ansel Hawkeye Glove Inc., Amigo's, Becker Florist, Community Tap and Pizza, Diamond Vogel, Dodger Tap, Earl May, Firestone, Fort Dodge Community School District, Goodyear, Health Care Center, Humes Distributing, Ja-Mar, Little Caesars, Papa Murphy's, Party Productions, Shoppers Supply, Subway, Tom Thumb Drive Inn, Village Inn, Zakeers, Sam's Coins, Advantage Auto, Wicker Jewelers, Daniel Tire, Fareway, Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, Hy-Vee, Taco Tico, JRG, Kemna Auto, North Central Correctional Facility, Pingle Tyre, Shimkat Auto, Tom Thumb Deli, Troy Waller, and Walmart. Again our league would also like to "thank" Doug and Kirsten Utley and their church group for their help with the event.
The Mid-Iowa Marine Corp League of Fort Dodge welcomes any former or present Marine to join. We have meetings the first Tuesday of every month at the VFW. Our yearly Steak Fry is open to everyone. The next Steak Fry will be held in April 2013.
