Andrew Curtis Iverson was born April 10, 1915, in Dows, Iowa, to Anna Marie (Severson) and Henry Julius Iverson. He graduated from Dows High School in 1931 at the age of 15, followed by employment with the Dows Creamery and the Williams Bank before moving to Chicago in 1940 to attend Gregg Shorthand College. In 1941, he attained a degree in court reporting and was credentialed as a Certified Shorthand Reporter. He enlisted in the Navy in 1941 and served as a court reporter in the Naval Intelligence District Legal Office in Pearl Harbor as a Chief Petty Officer, reporting courts martial.

Discharged in 1946, he moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa, to begin employment as a District Court Reporter with the circuit judge for the northwest Iowa district. That same year he married Frances Eleanor Iseminger of Dows, Iowa.

Andy and the family moved to Hastings, Minnesota, in 1961, where he was employed by the District Court as an Official Court Reporter. The family relocated to Spencer, Iowa, in 1964 so Andy could pursue a new career as a life insurance agent. He returned to court reporting as a freelance reporter upon a move to Fort Dodge, Iowa, in 1968. He officially retired from court reporting in 1981, at which time his daughter, Reade Adams, took over his freelance business in Fort Dodge. In 2004, Andy and Fran moved to Thompson, Iowa, to live near their granddaughter, Ellen (Iverson) Lodin. They sold their home and moved into the Mills Harbour assisted living facility in Lake Mills, Iowa, in 2009.

Andy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances; three children: John (Annette) Iverson, Reade Adams (John Schroder), and Paul (Judy) Iverson; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Stewart and Henry Iverson, and his sisters Helen (Arne) Christofferson and Martha (Les) Hegland.
