Three sentenced in meth case
SIOUX CITY - Three Fort Dodge residents who pleaded guilty to various drug charges have been sentenced for their crimes.
The charges come from a methamphetamine production conspiracy from 2008 until Sept. 2011.
William Bass Jr., 30, Lindsey Myers, 30, and Stephanie Svoboda, 37, all from Fort Dodge, pleaded guilty in February to conspiring to manufacture meth.
All three admitted their roles in the conspiracy, which manufactured at least 50 grams of meth.
They received various prison terms at their sentencings, which happened on Monday and Tuesday.
Bass received 60 months in prison, Myers was sentenced to 48 months in prison and Svoboda was sentenced to serve 80 months.
All three remain in federal custody before they can be moved to prison.
FD man arrested in Palo Alto County
PALO ALTO COUNTY - A Fort Dodge man, wanted in Pocahontas County, has been arrested after being spotted in Palo Alto County.
Dennis R. Brown, 29, was arrested Monday near Ruthven.
According to a press release from the Palo Alto County sheriff's office, deputies received information that Brown was near Ruthven around 9:15 p.m. Monday. Deputies arrested him in the 3600 block of Iowa Highway 18 on the warrant from Pocahontas County.
He was charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a permit, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is being held in the Palo Alto County Jail.
