ALGONA - The fourth-ranked (Class 2A) St. Edmond baseball team earned another victory Wednesday night, defeating Algona, 8-3.
The Gaels (18-6 overall, 9-4 in North Central Conference) plated six runs in the fifth to break the game open after falling behind 2-1. Hank Crimmins earned the win in relief, while adding three RBI on a bases-clearing double in the sixth.
"Hank came in and did a great job," SEHS head coach Joe Shanks said. "Aaron (Chalstrom) got in a little trouble, and we thought it was a good time to bring in Hank."
David Flattery had three hits and scored two runs as well for St. Edmond.
"Our middle infield of Nick Clark and Ryan Szalat turned two double plays early in the game that really got us out of jams," Shanks said.
Nathan Benson, Danny Grein and Derek Person all had two hits and an RBI for the Bulldogs.
