EUGENE, Ore. - Lisa (Koll) Uhl will seek a second Olympic berth on Thursday night, as the Fort Dodge Senior High graduate qualified for the finals of the event here on Monday night.
Uhl finished ninth overall in 15:48.16. She ran in the first heat, where she finished in sixth behind eventual winner Abbey D'Agostino.
A total of eight runners have met the Olympic-qualifying standard time of 15:20, so the top-three finishers will likely be the ones to advance to 2012 London Olympics later this year.
Over the weekend, Uhl finished fourth to qualify for the 10,000-meter run.
The 5000-meter final will take place Thursday at 5:15 p.m. (Iowa time). Uhl will be in lane five alongside her Nike/Oregon TC Elite teammates Lauren Fleshman and Julia Lucas.
NBC Sports will air racing action that night beginning at 8 p.m.
