POCAHONTAS - Nick Clark pitched a no-hitter for St. Edmond as the second-ranked (Class 2A)?Gaels cruised to a 10-0 victory over Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer here on Tuesday night.
Clark (3-1) went the distance, striking out six and not walking a batter. The lone base runner reached on an error following a chopper at third that was between hops in the third inning for the Indians (2-14).
"Nick was throwing stirkes and the defense was very good behind him,'' said SEHS head coach Joe Shanks. "We controlled the tempo of the game.
"I thought we were a little impatitent at the plate, but we did what we had to do.''
Clark also had a strong showing offensively to help his own cause, collecting two hits.
Hank Crimmins had two hits, including a double, and Cal Coleman had a triple and a single.
