Mary B. Thompson-Cooper, 92, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM onTuesday, June 19, 2012 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, with Rev. Edward Durand officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Sharon Coppinger of Moorland and Shirlee (George) Caggiano of Webster City; grandchildren, Shelly (Todd) Reuter of Manson; Kelly Coppinger of Bklyn Park, MN; Krisi (Greg) Brown of Fort Dodge; Nick (Carly) Caggianoof Pleasant Hill and Katie Caggiano of West Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Jon (Anna) Reuter; Justin (Kelli) Reuter; Holly (David) Hildreth; Jordan Reuter; Logan and Lukas Brown; Nathan and Danny Coppinger; Dominic and Gabe Caggiano; and great-great-grandchildren, Ally, Mia, and Daman Reuter and Collin Hildreth.
MARY B. THOMPSON-COOPER
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Pio and Ida (Boscetti) Bisacchi; husband, Kenneth Thompson in 1978 and husband, Keith Cooper in 1994; sister, Stella Casady and brothers, William and PrenoBisacchi.
Mary was born June 6, 1920 in Lehigh. At a young age, Mary moved with her family to the east side of Fort Dodge. She attended and graduated at the age of 16 from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1937. On December 31, 1941 Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth B. Thompson. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge and raised their daughters, Sharon and Shirlee. For 30 years she worked for Eddie's Grocery and then Land O'Lakes for 18 years, retiring in 1982. On December 18, 1981 Mary was joined in marriage to Keith Cooper and the couple continued to live in Fort Dodge. Mary was an avid bridge player, enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, and especially loved bus trips to Tama.
