WEBSTER CITY - The Webster City softball team came through when it counted twice against St. Edmond on Monday night to earn a 3-2 victory.
The Lynx (10-8 overall, 8-2 in the North Central Conference) scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extra innings and scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
Mikaleh McCoy recorded an RBI-double in the bottom of the seventh to tie the contest. McCoy also had an RBI-single in the fifth inning.
Kaylee Schnathorst scored the winning run in the ninth. She reached on a bunt, stole second, was sacrificed to third and scored on a wild pitch.
"It was a really good pitching dual," SEHS head coach Paul Hunt said. "Both had great stuff."
St. Edmond returns to action on Wednesday when they host Hampton-Dumont.
