Eugene Newsome, a candidate in the District 4 Democratic primary election, has been charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon following an alleged incident on Monday.
Newsome, 69, is alleged to have pointed a gun at a man and threatened to shoot him, according to court documents filed in the Webster County attorney's office.
He was released with supervision to the Department of Correctional Services following his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court.
