Warriors blank Raiders

FARNHAMVILLE - The Prairie Valley softball team picked up a 7-0 victory over East Sac County on Friday night.

Cassidy Brinkman and Josie Lambert both had home runs for the Warriors (3-1 overall). Marlee Walker had a double.

Lambert, Walker and Dani Peterson had two hits each.

North Iowa

WEST BEND - No. 12 West Bend-Mallard cruised to an 8-0 victory over North Iowa on Friday.

Jessica Abrahamson had two hits and an RBI for the Wolverines (3-1 overall). Sarah Berte had a triple and an RBI. Ashley Gamble had a double and two RBI.

Eagles stop Garrigan

EAGLE GROVE - The Eagle Grove softball team opened North Central Conference play with a 4-1 victory over Bishop Garrigan on Friday.

Megan Crail drove in all four runs for the Eagles (2-1 overall, 1-0 NCC). Crail had two doubles and three hits.

Lexie Miller also had three hits.

Taylor Hovey had a double for Bishop Garrigan (2-1, 0-1).

Wildcats explode

in first inning

HUMBOLDT - The 11th-ranked Humboldt softball team used a six run first inning to knock off Clear Lake 10-3 on Friday night.

Kenzie Shelgren had two hits, including a home run and drove in three runs.

Lauren Firesth had two hits with a triple and Sam Kirby had two hits with a double for the Wildcats (4-0 overall, 2-0 North Central Conference).
