MANSON - Henriette "Jimmie" Taylor, 93, died at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on Mon., May 21, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Fri., May 25 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson with Rev. Stephen Sherer officiating. Visitation will be on Thurs. from 4 until 7 p.m. at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Manson.
Jimmie is survived by her daughters Carolyn (Duane) Draman of Pocahontas, IA; Marolyn (Paul) Nuzum of Council Bluffs, IA; grandchildren Lance (Michelle) Heuser of Manson, IA, Jahn Nuzum of Council Bluffs, IA, Ami (Chris) Baas of Omaha, NE, Laramie (Robin) Heuser of Ames, IA, seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother John Hoefing of Pocahontas, IA; sister-in-law Mary Hoefing of Manson IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; brother Bud Hoefing; sister Marie Poppinga; great-great-grandson Braeden Mrla.
Jimmie was born on May 25, 1918, in Pocahontas County, the daughter of Henry F. and Grace (Schoon) Hoefing. After graduating from Rolfe High School in 1937, she went to California to work in a factory during W.W.II. She returned to Manson, and on Nov. 17, 1946, she was united in marriage with George P. Taylor at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Together they owned and operated George's Standard Service until they retired in 1982. They enjoyed traveling and camping together for many years after their retirement.
