Dewitt Street and part of Fourth Avenue North will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday for a major reconstruction project, according to the Fort Dodge city engineer's office.
Dewitt Street will be closed between Third and Fourth Avenues North.
Fourth Avenue North will be closed between Fifth and Seventh streets.
The project will yield new sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and water mains as well as a complete reconstruction of the street.
Hovey Construction Inc. of Fort Dodge has an $819,290.42 contract for the job.
