MASON CITY - Tara Jackson finished second in both the 800 and 1500 events Tuesday at the Mohawk Invitational to lead the Fort Dodge girls track team.

Jackson, a senior, clocked a time of 2:28.06 in the 800 and a 5:12.65 in the 1500.

Nicole Cook added a runner-up performance in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 1:11.53.

"Tara just had an awesome night," FDSH head coach Todd Constable said. "Hopefully, we can keep her going strong as districts approach."

Lexi Astor was third in the long jump (15-9), while the distance medley relay of freshman Carson Jarrard, Astor, ninth-grader Breonnah Al-Hammed-Foy and sophomore Maddie Bodholdt finished third, as well, in 4:33.43.

"We just need to keep working on things and get our lineup situated for districts," Constable said. "We want to get as many events into state as we can."

Bryanne Kasperbauer was fourth in the 400 hurdles, clocking a time of 1:14.84.

On the junior varsity front, the 4x800 relay of Kasperbauer, Sam Lennon, Sarah Rethwisch and Amber Habhab placed first, while Rethwisch added a second in the 800.

The Dodgers host the CIML Iowa Conference meet on Friday.
