DES MOINES - Several local and area track standouts were in action at the 103rd annual Drake Relays on Friday inside Drake Stadium.

Webster City senior Keagan Parks placed fourth in the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96. Cedar Falls' James Harrington became just the third athlete in state history to earn three straight Drake Relays 100 titles, clocking a new meet mark of 10.61.

"Keagan ran very well obviously despite stumbling in the finals," said WCHS head coach Tony Bussan. "He had his second best best performance of the year and did a great job. We're looking forward to good things as he closes out his career over the next three weeks."

Cal Zahn of the Lynx tied for 20th in the high jump (6-01), while Andrew May was 11th (15.18) in the 110-meter hurdles prelims. Webster City's 4x100 (Nathan Nuehring, May, Zahn and Parks, 44.17) was also 23rd in the prelims.

Fort Dodge's 4x100 (Jericho Habben, Austin Anderson, Keegan Jones and Cray Washington, 44.43) finished first in its heat and was 36th overall in the prelims. Waterloo West (42.39) posted the top mark in the prelims.

Algona's Michael Erpelding placed 24th (11.43) in the 100 prelims. The Bulldog 4x100 (Branden Garrett, Derek Person, PJ McMahon and Erpelding, 44.09) was 21st in the prelims.

Clarion-Goldfield (Brennan Kurfman, Dominic Brandt, Wyatt Sann and Nathan Davis, 3:36.95) settled for 14th in the sprint medley.

On the girls side, Fort Dodge's Lexi Astor was 23rd in the long jump (15-01.5). Des Moines Roosevelt's Jaylynn Roberts-Lewis (17-09.5) was the winner.

In the 4x100 prelims, Algona (Amber Lenz, Tawny Schultz, Courtney Groen and Chyan Metzger, 52.30) and East Sac County (Morgan Wollesen, Marie Scott, Megan McKeever and Jaylynn Peters, 52.94) both failed to advance.

Manson Northwest Webster graduate Kelsey Sukovaty (51-05) was ninth in the women's shotput for the University of Northern Iowa.
