Two arrested in Hy-Vee robbery

Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with what has been described as a robbery at Hy-Vee.

Austin Fishbaugh, 18, of Pilot Mound, has been charged with second-degree robbery and John Michael W. Bennett, 19, of Dayton, has been charged with aiding and abetting second-degree robbery.

According to the criminal complaint, filed with the Webster County attorney's office, Fishbaugh and Bennett were at Hy-Vee on Monday. It's alleged Fishbaugh took three bottles of liquor and tried leaving the store with them. When store employees tried to stop Fishbaugh and Bennett, court documents said Fishbaugh used one of the liquor bottles as a weapon to try to escape.

Two store employees were injured, according to the complaint.

Fishbaugh and Bennett were both arrested and made their initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court on Tuesday. Magistrate Steve Kersten ordered both men held on $10,000 bond, and scheduled both preliminary hearings for April 20.
