Man charged with assaulting EMT

A Fort Dodge man has been charged after allegedly assaulting an emergency medical technician.

Donald Lawrence, 31, of Fort Dodge, is accused of hitting an EMT in the stomach. Lawrence, according to court documents, was being treated at Trinity Regional Medical Center when the alleged assault happened.

He was charged with assault on a health care provider, a Class D felony.

Lawrence was released on his own recognizance and ordered to stay away from the alleged victim.

His case was sent to District Court for scheduling.

Rinard woman faces drug charges

A Rinard woman is facing drug charges in Fort Dodge after allegedly planning to produce methmphetamine.

According to court documents, Kailee Miller, 29, was planning on creating meth with at least two other individuals in November 2011 at 1301 S. 26th St. She's also accused of having prescription medicine without a doctor's note, and storing them in an unlabeled prescription container.

Miller is charged with conspiracy to manufacture more than 5 grams of meth, and possession of unlabeled prescription drugs.

At her appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Monday, Magistrate William Thatcher ordered Miller held on $101,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 21.
