Two Webster County organizations are among the 97 selected by MidAmerican Energy to receive a grant for tree planting.
MidAmerican awarded a $2,000 grant to the Pride in Community Appearance group, and a $1,000 grant to the city of Badger.
In addition to the Webster County organizations, the Sac City Trees Forever group also received a $2,000 grant from MidAmerican.
Eleven other area groups also received $1,000 grants. The cities and towns that received grants are Algona, Bradgate, Early, Lake City, Pomeroy and Ruthven. Other organizations that received the grants are Emmetsburg Trees Please, Humboldt County Conservation Board, Humboldt Trees Forever, Manson Economic Development and Thor Boosters.
