GOWRIE - Lawrence Anderson, age 87, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Gowrie Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in Harcourt with Pastor Rod Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, Harcourt. Palmer Funeral Home of Gowrie is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Fern of Gowrie; three sons, Ron (Jacque) of Florissant, MO, Gary (Judy) of Onalaska, WI, and Danny (Brenda) of Storm Lake, IA; grandchildren, David, Julie, Joshua, Lindsay, Bryce, Kyla, Taylor, Carsen and Cole: and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Ruth (Hult) Anderson; a sister, Carolyn Forslund; a brother, Ray; and an infant granddaughter, Alyssa.
Lawrence Anderson was born on July 10, 1924 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He grew up and lived in the Harcourt area all his life. Lawrence attended country school and Harcourt Community School. On January 28, 1945 he married Fern Jaeschke. Together they raised three children; Ron, Gary and Danny. Lawrence farmed north of Harcourt and worked various jobs in the area. Lawrence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf with his family and friends. He enjoyed having coffee with neighbors and friends. Lawrence was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Harcourt and the Harcourt Lions Club.
