The children's department of the Fort Dodge Public Library will sponsor a short series of storytimes for children and their families in December. These programs will follow a different format than is normally used.
Children ages 18 months through 6 years old are eligible for registration. Infants younger than 18 months may attend, provided they have a sibling who is registered. The children and their parent/caregiver will meet together in the Children's Reading Area. They will participate in a variety of December stories, finger plays, songs and special craft time.
December Stories will be held Wednesdays, Dec 7 and 14 from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursdays, Dec. 8 and 15 from 10 to 11 a.m., and on Thursdays, Dec. 8 and 15 from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.
When registering, the parent selects one day and time and attends both weeks at that time. While many children will be brought by alternative caregivers, the parent needs to register their child.
Registration will begin on Thursday on a first-come, first-serve basis until all sessions are full. Parents may call the Children's Reference Desk at 573-8167, or go to the library at 424 Central Ave. to register their child.
