A pair of local food producer meetings are scheduled in north central Iowa next week to help encourage planning for the expanding local food opportunities in this region.
The meetings include:
Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. for Wright and Franklin County growers, at Carlson Tree Farm, 867 130th St., Hampton.
Nov. 29, at 7 p.m., for Kossuth County growers, at the Iowa State University Extension office in Algona.
Healthy Harvest of North Iowa, a regional food system group, focused on nine north central Iowa counties, is organizing these meetings in partnership with ISU Extension.
Organizers hope to meet with experienced and new local food producers - vegetable, fruit, herb, meat - interested in engaging in growth and development strategies, and also measure the interest in collaborative marketing.
