Sharon Neumann-Lee helps arrange holiday items in the gift shop for the 2010 YWCA Holiday Showcase in the Trolley Center in downtown Fort Dodge. She is the gift shop chairwoman for this year’s Frosty and Friends Holiday Showcase, which kicks off Friday at the Trolley Center.
Ann Davidson, executive director of YWCA and one of the planners for the Frosty and Friends Holiday Showcase, said they have expanded the concept to be even larger this year.
"We are having a large reception and opening event on Friday night followed by activities all day Saturday. We've invited vendors from Market on Central to set up on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. giving patrons twice the reason to stop by and get in the holiday spirit. There will be activities for children as well, so bring the little ones along," said Davidson.
Saturday afternoon there will be photos with Frosty from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a Yule Festival with Frosty at 5 p.m. In the evening; a pasta bar will precede the live auction. There will be items to bid on directly as well as silent auction offerings. The event will wrap up on Sunday with a style show, Sweets and Style with Frosty. The silent auction will close on Sunday afternoon after the style show and winning bidders will be notified.

"This is the largest fund-raising event for the YWCA, and all proceeds support our homeless shelter for women and children. This event wouldn't be possible without the exceptional effort of so many individuals,"?Davidson said. "Gift Shop Chair Woman Sharon Neumann-Lee and Showcase Chairman Sally Kraayenbrink have done an exceptional job of organizing and orchestrating what I am sure will be a weekend to remember.
"We are also grateful to all the people, organizations and businesses who assist through donations, as designers and as patrons. We couldn't do it without all the help we receive from our community," she said.
