Former Fort Dodger and current New York playwright Kevin Kelleher will open his new musical comedy, "Deadpan," at Willow Ridge Restaurant in January and February 2012 as part of Iowa Central Community College's "Arts at the Ridge" 10-day cultural event.

He recently held a reading of "Deadpan" in Manhattan because he said the reading is part of the creative process necessary to bring a show to life. The artistic contributions of professional actors, plus the reception of New York audiences, will help make the show better for the debut in Fort Dodge.

Coming off the "The Madrigal Dinner" of last January, Kelleher is again teaming with Iowa Central to bring the new and innovative show to the community. "Deadpan" is a murder mystery dinner theater and a comedic musical as well.

The food will be provided by Iowa Central's Culinary Arts Department, under the direction of chef Michael Hirst, and the crew behind the production will include students from Iowa Central's music, theater and art departments.

Information can be found at Kelleher's website
