Iowa Hospice will hold a training session from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Fort Dodge Public Library for prospective volunteers.
Volunteer coordinator Kellie Moen said, "There are several ways volunteers make a difference, including patient care, bereavement support and office and staff support. Volunteers are flexible, and involvement can be altered to fit the volunteer's schedule."
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer should contact Moen at 955-5553. A dinner is planned for that night, so anyone attending is asked to call her beforehand.
Iowa Hospice was founded in 2005 and provides service to 90 counties in Iowa. Patients and families receive physical, social, emotional and spiritual support.
Iowa Hospice is available to anyone with a life-limiting illness, regardless of ability to pay.
