Bruce Perry will present an organ recital at 3 p.m. Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 S. Ninth St., as part of the day-long rededication celebration of the church's newly-renovated sanctuary.
The musical program will include works for solo organ and feature Grace's bell choir in selections for bells and organ.
The afternoon begins with a 2:30 p.m, reception and art show of works by members and friends of the congregation. The five-month renovation project included repairs to the exterior stone work and drainage system, as well as updates to make the sanctuary more accessible, energy efficient and compatible with contemporary trends in worship.
Perry's afternoon performance will highlight additions to the church's pipe organ and the church's improved acoustics.
Festive worship services with the rite of rededication will be held at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m., with Sunday school for all ages between services. The Rev. Matthew Martens will preach on the theme "God Is the Greatest."
Perry has served as worship and music coordinator for the congregation for more than 20 years. He holds degrees in music from Luther College and the University of Iowa and is a native of Sac City, where he lives.
The reception, art show and music celebration is free and open to the public.
